Casa le Monache is a rural complex (farmhouse, silos, oven, stables and... annexes) immersed in the greenery of the Umbrian countryside near the splendid village of Sangemini, known for its springs.
The farmhouse can accommodate a total of 18 people in 3 delightful apartments. Two on the first floor, accessed by an external staircase, and one on the ground floor. All with independent entrance and reserved and furnished space outside. Groups can rent the entire structure and use the large common room.
The farmhouse is surrounded by 3 hectares of olive groves and pastures and is ideally located for exploring Umbria and upper Lazio. To the north, in less than an hour you can reach Perugia, to the south, in just over an hour you can reach Rome.
The real peculiarity of the holiday home is that it is something more than a house ... the surrounding environment is an integral part of the tourist offer. the apartments are only the observation point of a larger scenario that requires and offers magic ... that same magic that children, like bees with pollen, are able to absorb and propagate. the furnishings of the apartments are designed to stimulate creativity and the spirit of observation.
We are sure that you will be won over, and you will want to return together with your loved ones, your friends to enjoy the pure beauty of this enchanted place.
Welcome!
My name is Emanuela and CasaLeMonache was my grandfather Umberto's house, the place where I spent most of my summer time during my childhood. Choosing it as a place of the soul and as a "tool" of work was like following an instinct, a light that I have never recognized as identical elsewhere.
Passionate photographer, I have always cultivated and tested my creativity.
What makes the area interesting ...
the house is curiously positioned between the hill and the mountain, in an area with a traditional agricultural vocation but well connected to all the tourist attractions of Umbria and upper Lazio (Rome can be reached by train in less than an hour). The most "special" thing about the area
is its centrality with respect to the most famous and most visited villages and naturalistic attractions (Cascata delle Marmore, Narni, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi, Valnerina etc.) but also to other places considered minor, even in the Orvietano and Viterbo area, in a fascinating and mysterious crossroads of pre-Christian, Etruscan and Roman influences. Among these, definitely worth a visit: the archaeological area of Carsulae, Civita di Bagnoregio (the dying city), the architectural park of Scarzuola in Montegabbione, Calcata and the Treia Valley, Valnerina, with its sports and recreational activities (nature trails, rafting, adventure parks, climbing and fishing).
San Gemini (3 km) is located 345 m above sea level and has just under 5000 inhabitants. Its geographical position makes it enchantingly panoramic; the excellent dry and sunny climate, its characteristic alleys that open onto buildings, churches and squares and its typical Umbrian cuisine make it particularly attractive for tourists. Between the end of September and the beginning of October, the medieval festival of the Giostra dell'Arme takes place there.
