From 1245 to present day, the noble family of the Counts of Collalto have cared for and defended this land with passionate tenacity.
Here, in the medieval walls, crenelated towers, and protecting bastions, one can still hear echoing stories of ladies and knights, of Renaissance chivalric epics, and of baroque splendour.
Here, amidst the gently-rolling hills of Prosecco, covered with ancient woods, olive groves, pastures, and fields, one can wander almost forever, immersed in an uncontaminated nature that has remained pristine over the centuries.
It is here, at the Conte Collalto winery on the plain below, that Princess Isabella Collato de Croÿ, the current owner, extends an elegant, exclusive welcome to her guests, along with a sparkling toast.

At the foot of San Salvatore Castle, a short walk from the centre of Susegana, there is a fascinating building with an Hapsburg feeling. Coloured in ocher and red brick, the winery, reminds us of the centuries-old link between the territory and the family.
Since the Middle Ages, the ancient County of Collalto, with its typical coloured farmhouses , produces wine and protects its lands with respect.
It is here, in the guesthouse of the Conte Collalto winery, that the Prosecco Collalto Lodge was completely renovated in 2018. From its windows you can admire the farming activity, marked by the seasons and crops, you can breathe the aroma of winemaking and…. you discover what your favorite prosecco is!
With a convenient parking and well connected to the roads, it is an excellent starting point for wonderful walks in the green hills of Prosecco, panoramic views around the castle, opportunities for wine and food tasting.

In the heart of the Marca Trevigiana hills, among the Castle of San Salvatore vineyards, there are many itineraries with different degrees of difficulty, accessible on foot (even with a stroller), by bicycle, and by mountain-bike: from the Collalto environs to the Strada dei Castelli, from the Prosecco DOCG route to the paths of World War I and to the famous Munich-Venice cycling route, which passes right through Susegana. The cities of Treviso, Venice, Verona, Vicenza, Cortina, and all the historical and artistic wonders of Veneto, are easily reached by car. We can recommend itineraries to discover the Venetian Villas, romantic routes, unforgettable displays of art, history and nature.
Susegana is also the 8th stage of the "Cammino di Sant'Antonio" (Saint Anthony's Way), a route of over 250 km, which can be covered on foot or by bicycle, connecting Gemona del Friuli to Padua.
