In the heart of the Tuscia Viterbese, nestled between rolling hills and breathtaking landscapes, stands Sutri, a village rich in history and charm. This small town, awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, is an unmissable stop for those who want to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of a timeless place. Among the main attractions of Sutri, the Parco Naturale Regionale Antichissima Città di Sutri stands out, an archaeological area of extraordinary historical value. Inside, visitors can explore the suggestive Etruscan Necropolis, which houses 64 tombs dug into the tuff dating back to the 1st century BC. But the real jewel in the crown of the park is the Roman Amphitheater, a one-of-a-kind work: entirely dug into the rock, it could accommodate over 9,000 spectators. No less fascinating is the Mitreo, an ancient pagan temple later converted into a Christian church and dedicated to the Madonna del Parto, evidence of the cultural stratification of the village.
Walking through the streets of Sutri, you are captivated by the charm of its historic center, guardian of priceless architectural treasures. Among these, the Concattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta stands out, dating back to the 13th century, with a baroque façade and a magnificent Cosmatesque floor. Equally iconic is the Torre dell'Orologio, built on an ancient Roman arch and today the gateway to the picturesque Piazza del Comune. There is no shortage of evidence of daily life in the past, such as the Antico Lavatoio, a symbol of popular tradition, and the splendid Villa Savorelli, a noble residence from the 15th to 18th centuries surrounded by elegant Italian gardens. To complete the rich cultural heritage of Sutri, we find Palazzo Doebbing, now a museum and home to prestigious art exhibitions, as well as religious buildings of great value such as the Church of San Rocco and the Church of the Santissima Concezione, both dating back to
