Shangrilà is an oasis away from the stress of urban life and a place to recharge your batteries on an energetic, physical and emotional level. You will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the sea from sunrise to sunset. As Ecovillage you may also enjoy the presence of nice volunteers from all over the world with many life experiences to talk about.
Afetr more than 10 years volunteering in eco friendly projects I had the chance 5 years ago to found this place in which I put together all my knowledge about eco-sustainability with warm attention to human relationships
Shangrila` is an ecological project of energy, water and food self-sustainability. We have bicycles for rent to move around the area, to the nearby beaches, to the nearby town of Santa Croce Camerina and to the famous Donnafugata castle 3 km away where the famous film "Gattopardo" was filmed. 10km away is also the village of Punta Secca where the successful TV series "Il Commissario Montalbano" was filmed. By the very near DonnaFugata train station excellent starting point for visiting the hinterland and discovering the Sicilian baroque in Ragusa-Ibla, Modica, Noto, Siracusa as well as trekking on the rivers of Cava Grande del Cassibile and Pantalica.
