It was a great base from which to explore the area. My room had an ensuite and kitchen. Claudia and Sergei were lovely hosts, giving me tips on where to go in the area. Good parking and close to a local village for any supplies.

An old farmhouse made of natural stone with a rich and unique history, restored by the efforts of artists. Here you can enjoy stunning mountain views, bathe in waterfalls, taste authentic local dishes, and homemade wine. The house is part of the Vernareya estate, now hosting the Stone Oven House Art Residency. Our estate, nestled amid mountains and forests, spans five acres with a murmuring stream, grazing cows, and pollinating butterflies and bees. Known historically as Vernareya, we now call it Stone Oven House. Artists, writers, and creative souls from around the world come here to find inspiration and sanctuary. We welcome all who love mountains, nature, art, culture, and heartfelt conversations. You will also have access to terraces with lounge chairs, a patio with a barbecue area, and a field with wild herbs and mushrooms. Visit the working studios and exhibitions of our resident artists. Feel free to inquire about the prices of their works; buying directly from the artist can be economical. You will meet our family as well. We live in the neighbouring house and are always at your service.
I am a professional artist, but someone once described my profession as that of a ‘professional guest.’ This label emerged from my travels across more than 50 countries, where I stayed in various accommodations in exchange for my art. From private homes to luxury villas, these experiences have taught me about the true essence of hospitality. My wife, Claudia Beccato, joins me in this journey. Claudia, a former food editor and gastronome, left her career to form the artistic collective Balovin&Beccato with me. Together, we run the Stone Oven House non-profit art residency project and Stone Oven Stay, welcoming not only artists but also travelers who wish to discover this amazing place. We are blessed with two children, our 4-year-old daughter Yara and her baby brother Teo, who bring magic into our home. Our property reflects our philosophy, offering a unique blend of artistic creativity and warm hospitality. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing our passion for art and human connection.
Nestled in the picturesque Valle Pellice in Piedmont, the village of Rorà offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Known for its stunning trekking routes, mountain biking trails, and refreshing mountain streams and waterfalls, the area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Rorà is also a vibrant artistic hub, home to master ceramicists and traditional craft makers. Renowned artists have left their mark here, contributing to the village’s rich artistic legacy. Nearby, the Tucci Russo Art Gallery and the Galerea Scroppo in Torre Pellice showcase contemporary art and host various cultural events, adding to the region’s dynamic art scene. Visitors can explore the Ecomuseum of Stone, which highlights the local stone and lime industries, and the Waldensian museum, which delves into the area’s historical significance . Valle Pellice and Rorà offer a perfect mix of natural splendor and cultural depth, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and inspiration.
