Tenuta Tenaglia estate was founded in the 17th century by Giorgio Tenaglia, governor of Moncalvo and mercenary captain, to grow his beloved Barbera and to spoil himself with an "oasis of wine" where he could drink and relax , before and after battles. Over the past centuries the vineyard has been expanded and today encompasses 30 hectars.
The wine-growing estate of Tenuta Tenaglia is situated 450 metres above sea level in the rolling countryside of Monferrato and at the edge of the national park Santuario di Crea, part of the UNESCO world heritage.
