Born in 1933, the swiss painter Constantin Polastri realized his life’s works at the Villa d‘Artisti. What was once a simple country house with a chicken coop and fields was transformed continuously for more than 40 years. With craftsmanship. handiwork and the help of his wife and friends, who often worked in exchange for a stay at the house or painting lessons, the house was transformed into the villa it is today. Until shortly before his death in 2009, the Villa d’Artisti was his atelier. In the Villa d’Artisti the magical atmosphere and miniature hidden worlds are touching in their beauty. Constantin Polastri’s vision of the Villa d’Artisti was not only to provide inspiration for his paintings, but also to create joy for others and to make the world a better place – at least at the Villa d’Artisti.
Barely two weeks after I was born, we went to Sanremo, because a wall came down. I’ve always felt close to the italian culture, altough we lived a different life from others. The roots of our name lies in Cremona. The Villa d'Artisti was always a place where different people met; it was Artists, Writers, friends, lots of children. Since I can remember, there was always something going on: We drew, painted, cooked, worked in the garden or renovated the house. Sundays, our Italian friends came over with a box of Pasticceria. There was this wonderful sea breeze in the summer. The Villa d’Artists is giving me inspiration for my work as a graphic designer and Illustrator, I've been practicing Yoga since 1991 and I am teaching since 2001 and like to share this with my guests. I love gardening and I am especially interested in the Ligurian cuisine and it's history as well of the music between the 30s and 60s.
I'll gladly send you a complete PDF of the Region and trips you can do. Most importantly, there's a store close by, reachable within 5 minutes by foot. And also a golf course, 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car. There's a good restaurant close by and a fruit and vegetable market in the city, that's open every day. Good beaches are about a 20 minute drive. There's bicycles for rent, down at the harbour and you can go as far as you can! Do not hesitate to contact me. By the way, I want to mention this, because it's really confusing when look at google maps. The highway is NOT behind our house, it is in the valley and it's remote sound depending on the wind has never bothered any of my guests.
