Whether it is a romantic getaway, a family holiday or a special occasion, I will be happy to help you make everything perfect.
🏰 Historical Centre and Culture
The historic centre of Carovigno, known as ‘La Terra’, is characterised by a medieval layout with narrow, winding streets, historic buildings and defence towers. Among the main attractions is the Dentice di Frasso Castle, a fortress that dominates the town and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The ancient city gates, such as Porta Brindisi and Porta Nova, testify to Carovigno's historical importance as a fortified centre.
🌿 Nature and Beaches
Carovigno is about 7.5 km from the Adriatic coast, making the beaches of Torre Santa Sabina, Specchiolla and the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve easily accessible. The latter is a protected marine reserve offering unspoilt beaches and nature trails, ideal for nature and sea lovers.
🍽️ Gastronomy and Traditions
The local cuisine is rich and varied, with typical dishes such as ‘piddica’, an Easter doughnut decorated with a hard-boiled egg, and ‘gnummarieddi’, lamb entrails rolls. Carovigno is also famous for the tradition of the ‘Nzegna, a religious festival held on the Monday, Tuesday and Saturday after Easter, during which flag-wavers in traditional costumes perform.
🏡 Living in Carovigno
Carovigno offers a peaceful and authentic atmosphere, with a mix of history, culture and natural beauty. Its strategic location makes it an ideal starting point for exploring other Apulian localities, such as Ostuni, located just a stone's throw away.
