A suburban town with easy access to both Osaka and Kyoto, taking about 30 minutes from the train station to reach either city. Located walking distance from the station and close to many restaurants, grocery stores charming cafes and convenient stores.
Hirakata lies midway between Osaka and Kyoto. This makes it possible to enjoy day trips to some of Japan’s most famous tourist attractions in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, even on a whim.
In front of Hirakata City Station, there are commercial facilities such as Hirakata T-SITE and Hirakata mall. Nearby, you'll find the Kyo-Kaido, a historical street lined with charming townhouses and traditional Japanese cafes.
Additionally, the rich rural landscape of the Hotani area, located in the southeastern part of the city, has been selected as one of the "100 Best Satoyama in Japan." In the bountiful autumn season, when the cosmos fields are in full bloom, a harvest festival is held. Hirakata is also a hidden gem to enjoy cherry blossom viewing without the crowds.
Hirakata is a city that offers a variety of ways to enjoy both its urban and rural charms.
