About this property
Established in 1887, Matsumoto Hotel Kagetsu is Matsumoto's oldest hotel. Building exterior, lobby, restaurants and shops have gone through renovation works in April 2016, and feature classic furnishings. Providing 24-hour front desk, it features a public bath, free-use bicycles and free property-wide WiFi. Well-appointed rooms come with both air conditioning and heating facilities. In-room conveniences include a fridge and a hairdryer. For leisure, guests can explore the town on a bike or enjoy massage services on request. Luggage storage and laundry services are available. Please note final orders are taken at 20:00.
Please note shuttle service is available from Matsumoto Station if reserved in advance. Please contact the property directly and make a request via the Special Request box at the time of booking.
Children aged 0-5 years incur an additional charge of 2,200JPY per night when using extra beds.
A breakfast surcharge of 1,375JPY per child, per day applies for children aged 3–5 years.
Renovation work of the Annex building will be carried out from 04/11/2025 to the end of next Feruary.
■ First construction
Period: November 4, 2025 (Tuesday) to late January 2026 (planned)
Details: Repair and painting of the annex exterior wall.
*During this period, scaffolding will be installed around the annex exterior, preventing guests from enjoying the exterior and scenery.
*The large public bath can be used as usual.
*The observation terrace will be open once safety of the scaffolding and other facilities has been confirmed, but it is expected that most will be unavailable of the period.
*Although staying is possible, please be aware construction noise may be heard during your stay in the annex.
■ Second construction
Period: January 5, 2026 (Monday) to the end of February 2026 (planned)
Details: Renovation of the unit bath in the annex
*During this period, guests will not be able to stay overnight in the annex.
*The observation terrace will not be available.
*The Yasoroku Onkan coffee shop will be closed all day.
*The large public bath in the annex will be available as usual.
