I'm Angele, and I am thrilled to have you as our guest. The name 'Nina' is not just a label; it is a heartfelt tribute to my mother, who cherished this house of character as her home for a significant part of her life. This charming house holds a very special place in my heart, and I am honored to share its warmth and history with you.
What I enjoy most about hosting is the opportunity to create lasting memories for our guests. Personally, I have a deep passion for history and culture, a love that was inspired by the stories my mother used to share about Siġġiewi. I take immense joy in helping our guests immerse themselves in the rich heritage of this village.
When I am not busy ensuring your stay is exceptional, you might find me exploring local archaeological sites, savoring Maltese cuisine, or simply strolling through Siġġiewi's enchanting streets, reminiscing about the precious moments my family enjoyed here.
My goal is to make your trip not just a stay, but an unforgettable experience filled with warmth and history. I am here to assist you with any questions or recommendations you may need during your visit.
Once again, welcome to Nina's House of Character, where I can't wait to make your Siġġiewi adventure a cherished memory, just as it is in our hearts.
Discover the charm of historic Siġġiewi from the comfort of Nina, nestled in the heart of this picturesque village. Siġġiewi is a historic local village surrounded by narrow winding streets, serene countryside areas, and an atmosphere of tranquility that envelops throughout the year.
Siġġiewi was established as a city as it was formerly called Ċittà Ferdinand by the Grandmaster Ferdinand Von Hompesch back to the 14th century, in 1797. Moreover, Nina is located 400m away from the village's square, within the historic narrow village streets that lead to the baroque parish church, dedicated to St Nicholas of Bari. The neighborhood gets lively in the last week of June, where the local feast dedicated to this patron is celebrated. During this time, the Church and streets are decorated, and the air is filled with joyous sounds of marching band clubs and the spectacle of aerial and ground fireworks.
Must-see attractions in Siġġiewi include Ghar Lapsi, a cave and a natural sea pool, consisting beautiful views of the islet of Filfla. Immerse yourself in the story of Malta's unique stone at the award-winning Limestone Heritage Park & Gardens, which unveils a journey spanning over 22 million years. Other village areas in the countryside include Fawwara, Girgenti and the famous Laferla Cross, which is a must-see yearly meeting point during the night on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The village square is transformed with a spectacular display of candles that add to the atmosphere of this religious event.
The Inquisitor’s Palace which was built in 1625, today serves as the official residence of the Maltese Prime Minister. Ħaġar Qim Temples and Mnajdra Archaeological Park and Blue Grotto are located 4.6 km and 5.5 km away from the property respectively. Finally, this neighborhood is targeted to travelers seeking to experience the life of locals in the South West part of Malta.
