Before moving to Amsterdam, I lived in Switzerland and London (UK), which helped shape my love for travel and hospitality. Situated on the first floor of our four-story canal house dating back to 1930 our accommodations provide the perfect base for exploring everything Amsterdam has to offer. We have two rooms available: The Canal View Room Located at the front of the building, this room offers panoramic views over one of Amsterdam’s oldest canals. It’s bright, elegant, and features air-conditioning for your comfort. The Rear Room Situated on the quieter side of the house, this spacious room is peaceful, cozy, and comfortable. and portable fan for your comfort. Both rooms feature: A private ensuite shower and toilet each room. A high-quality king-size bed. Elegant yet cozy interior design. Large windows that bring in plenty of natural light. Environmentally conscious features. Additional amenities include free Wi-Fi, a TV with cable channels, a mini fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryer, towels and a complimentary city map. You’ll receive your own set of keys, giving you the freedom to come and go as you please. We're always happy to assist with additional services or local tips. Our Location Velvet Amsterdam is located at Oudezijds Voorburgwal 10, right in the historic medieval center of Amsterdam just a 5-minute walk from Central Station. Many of the city’s top attractions are within walking distance, including: Dam Square The Flower Market Kalverstraat shopping street Nieuwmarkt The Red Light District Public transport (tram, metro, and bus) is easily accessible. Museum Square—home to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum—is just 10 minutes away by tram (lines 2 or 5) or a 30-minute walk. The Anne Frank House is only a 15-minute walk from our doorstep. A Historic Canal The Oudezijds Voorburgwal, dug between 1342 and 1380, is one of Amsterdam’s oldest canals.

The Neighborhood – Oudezijds Voorburgwal Our home is located on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, a historic canal and street in the heart of Amsterdam's Old Town. This unique area offers a fascinating mix of history and vibrant city life. Lining the canal are majestic old houses, many of them centuries old, including several national monuments. Just steps away is the Oude Kerk (Old Church), the oldest building in Amsterdam, dating back to the 13th century. The canal is crossed by eight charming bridges, offering easy walking access to surrounding neighborhoods. In the immediate area, you'll find a wide range of cafés, bars, and restaurants, where you can enjoy everything from traditional Dutch snacks to international cuisine. Staying here puts you right in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic center, with culture, history, and local life all around you.
