Welcome to 'Bua'. This is a truly unique seafront property. It's cozy and brings you very close to nature. 'Bua' is located at the end of a bumpy farm road, so it's only recommended for cars with high clearance. (Please note that if you want to bring your car to the island, you must make a reservation for the boat.) If you're on foot, you can take a scenic trail through the woods. There's no WiFi here, but you'll have a warm bathroom and plenty of fresh sea air.
Please note: The rental is for the first floor only. You'll have access to the bedroom, a shared bathroom, a cozy living area, and shared outdoor spaces like the verandas.
We live at 'bua' ourselves and would be delighted to welcome you to our lovely guest room. Sometimes we're home, sometimes we're on the move. Anyway, we're happy you want to stay at our 'Bua'.
Svanøy is the southernmost and most lush island in Kinn municipality. The history of Svanøy is diverse and stretches far back in time. In the previous century, the island was the main center in the region, with significant activity in exports and shipping.
Today, Svanøy is home to about 45 inhabitants, with salmon farming as a key industry. On the island, you'll find a grocery store, a guest harbor, the Norwegian Deer Centre (Norsk Hjortesenter), and the historic 'Svanøy Hovedgård'. There are excellent bike paths, and bikes can be rented at the pier. You can also visit Svanøy Kro, which has a café and a pub (and free WiFi).
