The little cabin was lovely and snug and I enjoyed staying have stayed before it's a lovely quiet location with forest trails radiating off in all directions. The hot shower had issues but the Manager had a electrician working on the problem

Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is a charity that provides accommodation exclusively to schools during the week. It is run by a small, friendly team who love Hanmer and running our unique venue! Guests love our wide open spaces including our huge camp site and well equipped facilities. It's an ideal place to come on holiday and let the kids run loose, whilst you enjoy our peaceful setting. We are a quiet family campground for those who want to enjoy our peaceful atmosphere. Pets are NOT allowed for indoor accommodation bookings; dogs are ONLY allowed to stay on our campsite/tent accommodations. We will not allow your pet to sleep in the car. We are not suitable for large groups and parties. Alcohol is permitted in moderation. We do not accept Stag or Hen dos. If your numbers are 12 or more, you are considered a group and need to contact our office to proceed with your booking.

Neighbourhood information

There's many things to see and do in the area. We have a variety of tramping walks which start at the Camp. From a gentle stroll through Hanmer Forest, to a full day hike up Mount Isobel, there's something for everyone. There are various mountain biking tracks which cater for all abilities. Have a game of mini golf, a delicious dinner in one of the many restaurants and finish with a soak in the pools! We also have an on-site activities company offering Archery, Tree Climbing, Outdoor Puzzle hunts and more.
