Access to the Omokoroa Golf Club is through a private gate across the road from the property. The course runs along the estuary and coastal wildlife area and into natural valleys bordered by residential areas. A golf cart is available.
The cycle trail to Tauranga and Mt Maunganui is just up the road, this takes you through Te Puna, Bethlehem and Otumoetai. The Omokoroa Beach front is just a few minutes away, where you can enjoy a lazy day at the beach, swimming, safe windsurfing and kayaking plus ever-changing water views. Down at the Beach the Boat Club is open for Brunch and Dinner Thursday to Sunday. Alma Café is just across the road from the Boat Club, while a short distance away at Te Puna The White House offers a comprehensive lunch and dinner menu. At the village in the vicinity of Fresh Choice our supermarket, you will find a selection of restaurants and takeaway options to choose from. Hosts Graham and Linda have many years experience in welcoming visitors and their home features their personal collection of New Zealand artworks, books and mementos.
Situated in the heart of the Bay of Plenty's kiwi fruit, avocado and citrus growing areas you will find many roadside stalls where you can pick up fresh produce and during the season pick your own berries.
Graham and Linda are both golfers having played many courses in New Zealand, as well as courses in Alberta and Victoria Island in Canada, Ireland and St Andrews, Scotland.
In addition their involvement in the visual arts means their home has an eclectic collection of artworks and art books for you to enjoy.
Both Graham and Linda are also accustomed to hosting visitors and are experienced in hospitality.
Watersports, walking, fishing, cycling are all available in the area which has recently become more residential from a traditional holiday location at the end of a farming peninsula. The Te Puna Quarry Park and the Minden Lookout off additional experiences followed by a visit to The Cidery or a Wine Tasting at Leveret Mills Reef Estate. Further afield in Tauranga, the Tauranga Art Gallery presents a changing exhibition programme and is adjacent to the Strand and its wide range of cafes.
Mt Maunganui has a famous surf beach and lively shopping strip.
