Casa do Torreão is a unique historical property built on the foundations of an 11th century castle. Located 30min from Faro Airport this Central Algarve property is steeped in history and every time you look around you can discover something new! There are two guestrooms with ensuite bathrooms, each with their own character. As guests you have free access to the guest annex so you can come and go as you please. Upstairs from the guestrooms you will find the pool and have access to the guest kitchen, terraces to enjoy your breakfast or coffee, and play a game of pool in the entertainment room.
Salir is a small town that is nice to explore by foot. You can visit the museum next to the property to learn more about the castle and its history, as well as walk around the old castle walls and take in the mountainous views. There are several restaurants and coffee shops in the village where you can try local dishes or have a sundowner in the evening. Its a 15min drive to Loule - one of the bigger towns in the Algarve with more dining and entertainment options. There is a monthly farmers market as well as two big festivals that take place in Salir every year and draw big crowds. The property provides easy access to many different hiking and cycling trails, including the Via Algarviana. The famous Algarve beaches are accessible by car but we also have a wonderful pool and terrace to enjoy in case you prefer to stay nearby!
