We would like to inform you that, as of May 9, 2025, a new law has come into force in the Azores that requires the collection of a tourist tax of 2 euros per night per guest for the first 3 nights of your stay. This charge will apply to all guests, except in the cases of exemption provided for in the legislation. Exemptions: The following cases are exempt from paying the tax: a) Guests under the age of 13; b) Guests whose stay is motivated by medical services, for the days necessary for treatment, plus one night's accommodation, with this exemption extending to one person accompanying the sick guest (even if the companion does not stay overnight at the establishment for health reasons); c) Guests with a physical disability equal to or greater than 60%; d) Residents of the Azores. Required Documentation for Proof: To benefit from the exemption, you must present the relevant documentation at the time of payment. The following documents are required: a) For guests under 13 years of age: Citizen card or passport; b) For guests staying for medical reasons: Copy of the document proving the appointment or provision of medical services, indicating the date; c) For guests with a disability of more than 60%: Document proving the disability; d) For residents of the Azores: Identification document (citizen card, identity card, residence certificate, or proof of address).
