At Manta Ray Lodge we are very happy to help you with any kind of information about the places to visit and activities to do while visiting Faial. Joana, your host, is a marine biologist and manager of Dive Azores, a Whale Watching and Dive operator in Horta since 2003. Although spending most of the day at sea in summer, Joana is always available to help in whatever guests need via WhatsApp, email or phone call. Guests staying at Manta Ray Lodge enjoy special prices on the activities at our partner Dive Azores.

Property information

Manta Ray Lodge B&B is the ideal retreat for the active traveler after a day exploring Azores nature. With a relaxed and comfortable elegance, the Lodge offers 7 exclusively decorated rooms all with ensuite bathrooms. A common lounge with a patio and a fully-equipped kitchen are available for guests to read, enjoy a glass of wine or socialize with fellow guests. Guests staying at Manta Ray Lodge have access to free Wi-Fi and High Definition satellite programming. Each room includes a hair dryer, toiletries and a safe. Complimentary coffee and tea. Please notice that Manta Ray Lodge is located in the centre of Horta, so although it is well isolated and newly built, there is some traffic noise during rush hours. For guests who are noise sensitive or wish to spend the whole day resting in the room, our standard double room it is the most loud. Every year, from the 1st Sunday of August until the following Sunday, Horta celebrates the Sea Week with concerts until late hours. Manta Ray Lodge doesn't have a lift and room access is done by stairs (people with limited mobility should keep that in mind when booking our property).

Neighbourhood information

Manta Ray Lodge is within walking distance of Horta’s highlights (the marina, Monte da Guia Marine Reserve, Porto Pim beach, whaling museum, the city market), local shops and restaurants and only 10 min. drive from the airport. The ferry to Pico is 10min away. There is a tea house/bar (CASA) and a small supermarket 100m and 300m down the street, respectively. The city market is also within walking distance.
