Situated in the heart of the Tapada do Falcão estate is Casa do Outeiro, a newly renovated three ensuite bedroom house built to exacting standards with all rooms lofted to the rafters, creating a sense of space and light. Central is the living area comprising sitting and dining space and kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead to a covered portico with extensive terraces and pool beyond. The uninterrupted views from here across the valley to the vineyard and hills beyond are the best. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living area has a log burner for winter. There are three similar sized ensuite bedrooms – two with king beds and one with two singles which can be converted to a king. Two bedrooms lead directly to the terrace and pool. The ensuite shower rooms are tiled in local stone and feature large walk-in rain head showers. There is air conditioning throughout, and free wi-fi. Because of the different terrace levels and with steep drops beyond the pool, this house is unfortunately not suitable for children under 8. Babes in arms are welcome and a travel cot is available.
We are excited to share with you our undiscovered corner of Portugal. We first bought our house here in 1997 and for many years came for holidays and rented it out. In 2018 we seized the day and moved here permanently. The old stone cottage on the estate had become damp, infested with woodworm and was scarcely habitable and with heavy hearts we acknowledged that major works were needed! Its selling point had always been its location, and so we embarked on an ambitious project to rebuild the house to embrace those views. The result is the Nova Casa do Outeiro that you see today.
We hope that you enjoy our place as much as we do!
