Sea Roots "Garden Zone" consists in two one bedroom bungalows with private bathroom, kitchen, garden and barbecue area. Its located in a sea front property in Mosteiros, a favorite for holidays amongst the island residents, for its great weather, crystal clear rock pools, beautiful black sand beach and the amazing sun sets over the ocean, which can only be contemplated from the western tip. It comfortable suits two people plus a child these south facing units are perfect to relax.
Our family moved from New Zealand to São Miguel and we're trying to live a simple life, in close contact with nature. Douglas is from New Zealand, a surfer, keen fisherman, a creative carpenter and a diver. Tania is Portuguese and enjoys gardening and yoga. Our son Sansho loves spending time outdoors, exploring insects, fishing, swimming and playing with our dog Bean, always closely followed by our twin baby daughters Jade and Jasmim. We are a multicultural family and we love travelling and knowing new people and cultures.
Mosteiros is one of the most consistent spots for surfing in the island, rocky point breaks with fun waves and one of the best places for rock fishing and spearfishing, diving and snorkeling, directly across the road from the property. With some luck you may even see whales and dolphins passing by. For those who enjoy hikes, there are several marked trails that can be started straight from the house, to the water springs or the top of the Sete Cidades vulcano to view it’s stunning green and blue lagoons, one of the island most iconic spots. In town there is also a whale and dolphin watching charter, which also runs sunset cruises between Mosteiros and Ferraria, a thermal ocean pool where water reaches above 30ºC.
