This building was conceived and built in 1924 under the guidance of Frederico Egídio De Freitas Da Silva, his first owner at the time, agent of the Blandy agency in the city of Funchal, responsible for the steam navigation of the north coast was initially a reception warehouse various goods from Funchal and transported by steamships, namely the Hawk, the Bútio and the Hawk, among others in which the front of this building would be moored making port when the sea allowed it.
The parish probably owes its name to the fact that the first settlers of this northern area, when descending by the Encumeada and towards the valley of San Vicente, had found numerous crows to fly over the valley and remembered the Spanish martyr named Saint Vincent , whose remains were defended by one of those birds. In this parish are located the caves and the center of volcanism. The volcanic caves allow to know the interior of the island and the process of volcanic convulsion that originated it.   In the center of the village is the Indigenous Garden, with an area of 2,200 m², where dozens of species of Madeiran flora are represented. In this place accessible to the public grow many of the species of Laurissilva and some other typical of the cliffs of the seaside.
