Torre de Maneys is a B&B in two buildings linked by an enclosed bridge across the street.
In the XVI century Tower, believed to have been storage for the Castle, are the common rooms, distributed on two floors and a gallery. Across the bridge in the patio house are 4 of the 5 bedrooms.
Due to topography, we can enter it from each floor, thus enjoying a very particular relationship with the town.
The dining room and kitchen are on the lower floor, and both extend outside, to the town square and street.
The upper floor has a room with a fireplace, it is my favourite reading place in winter evenings. The double height library with the gallery is the main room in the house and best for gatherings, watching a movie or listening to music. Most of the books are on the stacks on the upper gallery, ready to browse. There are fiction and poetry in several languages.
Guests have access to the whole house, the terrace overlooking the town and the fields beyond, and the courtyard, which is also an entrance to the house.
The owner often is at the property .

Óbidos is a unique place for spending a vacation. You can walk everywhere and get lost in the medieval streets, taking the time to observe the detailed architecture of its buildings, churches and squares. Every corner holds a potential surprise; the hilltop location, sloping topography, and surrounding castle walls, offer contrasting views of narrow streets against a backdrop of open territory beyond.
The many bookshops found inside the village (belonging to the Óbidos Literary Village Program) are a destination to explore for who is interested in discovering contemporary authors or old books long out of print.
Óbidos is 80 km North of Lisbon, reached by car, A8 highway. There is a direct bus (Rodoviária do Tejo, leaving from Campo Grande subway station in Lisbon) which stops near the Town entrance. To explore the region a car is convenient. Access inside the walls is restricted to loading and unloading the car, but ample parking is available.
