Set in a 19th century building, which once belonged to the Romanian aristocratic family of the Catargius, Residence Villa Barrio features an interior in Art Deco style and free Wi-Fi in the entire property. It is 250 metres from the Piata Romana underground and bus station.
The Villa Barrio Residence is 500 metres from the Bucharest’s Old Town. The Bucharest North Railway Station is 1.7 km away, while the Henri Coandă International Airport is 20 km away. Public parking is available at a nearby location for free.
Two major boulevards intersect in Piața Romană: Lascăr Piata Romana is where some of the city's most important avenues meet, notably Bulevarduls Magheru, Lascar Cartagiu and Dacia. It is home to arguably the country's most prestigious university, the Academy of Economic Studies (ASE), but like many other public squares in Bucharest the impact of its architectural gems is dampened somewhat by the heavy traffic which passes through. Nearby is busy Piata Amzei, a decent produce market that has recently been renovated, and which is flanked by some decent cafes and restaurants.
