Welcome to our charming home – perfect for a relaxing stay in a peaceful setting surrounded by green fields, just outside the quaint town of Torsås in Småland. Built in the 1930s, this spacious house features 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower upstairs, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room that seats six, a cozy living room with a large sofa, and an additional toilet on the ground floor.
During warm summers, the house stays comfortably cool, creating the perfect atmosphere for unwinding after day trips around Småland. It’s ideal for 1–2 couples or a large family, whether you’re enjoying shared meals, cooking together, or cozy game nights in the living room. The home blends traditional charm with modern comfort – offering a truly Swedish experience in one of the country’s most quintessential regions.
The large, lush garden strikes a balance between natural wilderness and thoughtful order. Trees and bushes provide privacy as well as shelter from wind and noise from the nearby road. Sculptures are nestled throughout the greenery, adding a sense of zen and a touch of detail.
Please note: the entrance and its roof are currently under renovation. Work is paused during the summer, but scaffolding remains on the sides, offering shade over the outdoor dining table – which can also be moved onto the lawn for a sunny breakfast or dinner in the garden.
We’re Oxy and Martin, a married couple who enjoy a cozy yet busy home life, sprinkled with the occasional adventure – especially now that we’ve entered our middle-age chapter. While we love to travel, we’ve become a bit more settled since moving to this house and region about a year and a half ago. We’re still discovering all it has to offer and enjoying every step of the journey.
This summer marks the first time we’re opening up our home for rent, and we’ve put a lot of thought into making it a relaxing and comfortable space. We’ve included many of the small touches we appreciate when traveling ourselves. We’re happy to offer tips on the best local spots to visit, and you can count on quick communication and complete respect for your privacy. Whether you’re staying for a weekend escape or a longer break, we’re excited to welcome you and help make your visit special. We also genuinely appreciate any feedback – suggestions, comments, or critiques – that can help us improve as hosts.
Mostly, you will be in contact with Oxy =)
Villa Torsås is located among open fields and surrounded by farmland, with the nearest neighbor 150 meters away. Just a few kilometers from the house lies Torsås – a quiet, charming town ideally situated between Kalmar/Öland and Karlskrona, and a great base for exploring southern Småland with convenient access by car or bus. Everything is within easy reach via the E22 highway or scenic backroads, with most destinations accessible within a 40-minute drive. The nearest bus stop is just 300 meters away.
Inland, you’ll find Glasriket (the Kingdom of Crystal), a region in Sweden known for its artisanal and design-focused glass production. There are several museums, as well as opportunities to take day courses in glassblowing.
Just 5 kilometers to the east is the coastline, offering views of Öland and an open horizon to the south. Several beaches and swimming spots are nearby – some perfect for families with children and others for quiet relaxation.
To the west, you’ll discover small communities and charming farms nestled in the Småland forests, along with several lakes ideal for swimming or peaceful forest walks.
We don’t often eat out, so we can’t recommend many restaurants nearby, but there is a good pizza: Tuppen Pizzeria in Torsås. For more dining choices, Kalmar and Karlskrona offer a range of options, from buffets and fine dining to casual kebab shops.
