Born in 1966 to an Ankara family, Malik Sahin is the creator of The Private Bays & Island Concept in Turkey. In his teens he had travelled south from home to Fethiye, and fell in love with the calm, unspoiled beauty of Ölüdeniz. He spent his school holidays working in that beautiful part of the world, while studying Geological Engineering at Hacettepe University in Ankara - but it was becoming clear that his focus moving forward would be in business. He moved to the UK to study for an MA in Business in London and during summer holidays he build his first 16 m boat in Fethiye. In 1992 he opened a Travel Agency in Hisarönü also met his British wife Nicky, with whom he has had two sons. In 2000, he started Turkey specialist tour operator in Tunbridge Wells with Stuart. By 2012, he was spending a great deal of time sailing around the coast on his yacht. He was inspired to try and discover a secluded, private place where he could create somewhere completely unique.
