Our 3 bedroom house is located 120 km from Arusha. It is walking distance from Mto wa Mbu village and close to Lake Manyara national park, Tarangeri National Park, the Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. There are lots of birds near the house. Perfect for families & friends wanting be together and relax and have a cultural village experience. Mobile router for wifi is available, but you need to buy additional voucher in the village for extensive data use.
I am from Denmark. From 1988-91 I worked in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania for the UN. Later I did research on in the area, and this lovely spot as become my second home. I use Airbnb myself (e.g. USA, Japan, England) because I love to have my own place when traveling. Our family now enjoy having this lovely holiday cottage. When we are not there ourself, we would like to give others an opportunity to spend time in the house. Local contact: Our neighbour is a long-time family friend. She speaks English and she will welcome you and help you out with whatever needs and wishes you may have for your stay.
The neighbourhood is cosy and attractive to several birds, small wild games such as baboons, lizards, and variety stock of birds dominated by the Hornbill from which the name of the House (Hondohondo) is drawn. The house is in the middle of banana plantations offering greenish view throughout the season, including opportunities for WALKING along the traditional irrigations scheme extending towards the basement of the Rift Valley and the source of the water.
