A Breath of Heaven is located just four miles from the West Bay of Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, Michigan, in an amazing custom log home on eleven-acres nestled on the Leelanau Peninsula. Perfectly placed on the rolling hills and woods, our B&B provides Up North charm and comfort, spacious rooms, comforters to snuggle under, hearty scrumptious breakfasts served with warm hospitality. Guests will also find a well-stocked library in our second story loft, a fireplace to take off the cool night chill and common areas to relax and renew. A Breath of Heaven has 2 Suites. The Vineyard Suite has a king size bed, 2-person Jacuzzi, a 2-person shower, sink and commode, sofa, and fireplace. The Standard Suites; The Bay Suite, each have a queen size bed and night stands, a large shower and tub, sink and commode, and over-sized chair. Our location offers a wide variety of recreation or simply a place for quiet rest & relaxation. Experience hiking in nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, sail boarding, swimming or boating in Grand Traverse Bay or nearby Lake Michigan. Don’t forget golf, cycling, and of course, snow skiing!
We are Scott & Laurie Vaughn and it is our great pleasure to be your hosts during your stay in the Traverse Bay and Leelanau Peninsula area. After raising our 5 children and vacationing many years in Traverse City and on the Leelanau Peninsula, we knew that we were called here to fulfill a dream of owning a Bed & Breakfast in beautiful Northern Michigan. What a privilege to serve others and share our love for this area…which is truly A Breath of Heaven! Scott & Laurie bring a wide variety of customer service and expertise to A Breath of Heaven. Laurie has spent many years in the book industry, both as a store manager and customer service trainer for one of the largest bookstore chains in the United States and book buying/selling in a small independent Christian bookstore. Laurie’s passion for books is evident in the diverse selection of books found in the 2nd story library loft. Scott has 35 plus years of experience in church ministry, serving in roles from Music Minister to Senior Pastor. His extensive business background include includes sales and marketing on a national level within the floor covering industry, management in the emergency and occupational medical field.
Guests staying at A Breath of Heaven can visit the nearby Leelanau Peninsula wineries and shops in the pedestrian-friendly downtown areas. Fish the waters of Grand Traverse Bay or any of the many fresh water lakes. Golf, ski, hike and scamper on the dunes overlooking Lake Michigan during your time in Pure Michigan. Traverse City is without parallel when it comes to culture. Restaurants are known for their innovative cuisine, use of fresh local ingredients, and extensive Michigan wine lists. Stay at A Breath of Heaven during the National Cherry Festival in the beginning of July, complete with a thrilling Air Show. Stay for the Traverse City Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in the Midwest and enjoy free outdoor classic movies overlooking Grand Traverse Bay.
