Built in the roaring 1920's, the Carraway Guest House is perfect for a romantic weekend get-a-way or a private and quiet room for when you are traveling for business. The guest rooms are non-smoking and features an ensuite private bath with a shower as well as all the modern amenities for guest's convenience. The Carraway Guest House is within walking distance of shopping, art studios, antique shops, restaurants, wine shops, chocolatier, beauty salons and banks. Your room will be upstairs at the top of the stairs. This room is bright and sunny with three windows and is decorated in neutral colors with a splash of yellow. You'll have a lock on your door and a private bathroom with a shower inside your room. I wash ALL the bed linen, even the blankets and bedspreads after each guest stay. I also sanitize the entire bathroom, doorknobs and all cleanable surfaces after each guest stay. You may join us for conversation, or have the privacy of your room or separate living room. Complimentary bottled water, coffee, sugars, sweeteners, flavored creamers and herbal teas are available. The entire house is non-smoking, however you may smoke in a designated area outside.
We love to travel. Marc is a pilot and we have our own single engine plane. We also love to host. Marc is the ultimate story teller with tails of his flying since his early 20's. We're always up for an adventure, and boy, do we have stories! We met ballroom dancing 16 years ago and we dance a couple times a week even now. We don't mind working hard one minute and getting dressed for a formal event the next. We love live entertainment, good food and best friends! Myself, Marc, daughter Jennifer, or son-in-law Matt, will be available to offer recommendations and be available when needed. If we have plans for the evening, we will still be available by phone. When at home, we have a family room separate from the living room if you want privacy, but we're always available to socialize if you prefer.
We are within walking distance of 4 great restaurants. For breakfast, we recommend the WigWam or Harvest Moon Cafe. For Lunch, we recommend the WigWam, Harvest Moon Cafe or Shade on the Canal. And for dinner, our favorites are Harvest Moon Cafe, Shade on the Canal or Village Wines. A local micro-brewery is scheduled to open soon within walking distance as well. If you like a walkable community with lots to do, you'll love Canal Winchester. We often say this is a community where we would love to vacation, and WE GET TO LIVE HERE! However, Columbus is only 20-40 minutes away with hundreds of hotspots, restaurants, live theater, sports and shopping. The Interstate 70/ 71/ or 270 outerbelt will take you anywhere in Columbus within 20-40 minutes. If you like the outdoors, hiking or exploring, go in the other direction 30 minutes, and you're in the Hocking Hills region, home of Old Man's Cave and miles of state parks.
