Listed on South Boston's walking tour, this Italianate Victorian home is located in the historic district. Charles Bass, the original owner, built the house in 1904 when it was prestigious to live on the main street in town. Many of the homes in the neighborhood are from this era.
Being a small bed and breakfast, it offers an intimate setting with few or very limited other guests. It is yours for the stay. While my guest, I want you to feel at home. Be comfortable throughout the common areas as well as in your private quarters. Enjoy the piano and stereo in the living room or relaxing in the hot tub or on the deck.
Satellite flat-screen TVs are available in the Guest Suite and the upstairs Guest Room. Free off-street parking is available in the driveway behind the house. It is also only a half mile walk to downtown South Boston where you will find restaurants and shops. There are many nearby venues including great restaurants, motor sports, walking trails, state parks, historic sites, theatre, art galleries and local wineries, brewery and distillery.
I am originally from Texas, but consider myself a true Virginian now. After graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, I found my way to South Boston via my job with Westinghouse.
That was 50 years ago! I am now retired and enjoy running the Charles Bass House in my home. I love sharing my home with guests and make every effort to make them feel at home here.
I am also a certified massage therapist and offer my services to my guests.
