It is vey Peaceful. We are located in the bucolic village of East Marion. This bedroom community of Greenport is idyllic and pastoral. the house though it is on the Main Road has a large backyard garden for contemplation and relaxation. The house was built circa 1790 and was once owned by a ship's captain. Captain Vail and his family were very prominent and influential in America. We have met some of their descendants Captain Vail is buried in the East Marion cemetery nearby..
Veda nad I have hobbies that complement our being innkeepers. Veda loves to cook, and garden. there so much of both to do here that she is always occupied. I love to tinker and do renovation projects. I am now working on restoring the corbels to their full glory. It is a long and expensive project.
We love East Marion that we got married in the community church. East Marion is small but so attractive that we had at one point ten places that provide accommodations, one motel, two sets of cabins and seven bed and breakfasts, more than any other village on the North Fork. The lake which is half a mile behind our house is peaceful and a pair of swans that occupy it. East Marion has several beaches. Truman's beach which is very picturesque and great for picnics, photographs and watching sunsets, Rocky Point beach is as its name describes rocky and full of pebbles for collecting and Bay Avenue beach for watching the sunrise..
