Born and raised in South-Africa, we're passionate about traditional South African braai food—there’s nothing like the warmth of a fire, the sizzle of boerewors, and sharing good food with great company. Jaco and Madelein has traveled to nearly 50 countries, each journey enriching their perspective and inspiring their creativity. From vibrant street markets in Asia to the elegance of European architecture, travel has sparked ideas that influence Madelein's two other loves: sewing and interior design. She enjoys creating unique garments that blend cultural styles and personal flair, finding joy in every stitch. Her interest in interiors is driven by a desire to craft spaces that feel soulful and inviting, often incorporating elements from my travels—textures, colors, and artifacts that tell a story. Whether they're by the braai, behind a sewing machine, exploring a new country, or styling a room, she's driven by a love for culture, creativity, and connection. These passions are the thread that weaves our world together.
Frankfort, Kentucky’s charming historic downtown is rich with Southern character, where cobblestone streets, 19th-century architecture, and the Kentucky River set a timeless scene. As the state capital, it offers a unique blend of political history and small-town warmth. Just beyond downtown, rolling hills and bluegrass pastures showcase the region’s deep connection to horses—this is true horse country, where Thoroughbreds graze and equestrian traditions run deep. Frankfort is also at the heart of bourbon heritage, surrounded by some of the most iconic distilleries on the Bourbon Trail, including Buffalo Trace, the oldest continually operating distillery in America. Visitors and locals alike enjoy tastings, tours, and discovering the craftsmanship behind Kentucky’s signature spirit. Whether exploring historic landmarks, riding scenic back roads, or sipping a smooth pour of bourbon, Frankfort offers a rich, authentic Kentucky experience that blends past and present with pride.
