Duck Creek Village is at 8,500 elevation among pines and aspen. It is central to two major national parks: Zion and Bryce. You can be there in under an hour to each, and they are open year round. In and around Duck Creek has caves, Navajo Lake and Panguitch Lake for kayak, pontoon rentals, and fishing, as well as many hikes. ATVs in the summer and fall or snowmobiles in the winter with hundreds of miles of trails. When you are not out playing and exploring, we have set up indoor fun for your family and/or friends at the chalet. You will find a fully-equipped kitchen, and be able to enjoy a quiet, complimentary morning cup of coffee or tea while gazing at the pine trees. The kids can enjoy hot chocolate or apple cider at our outside table with fire center on our deck. We have several games: Indoor electronic Basketball, PacMan arcade, several board games, puzzles, and playing cards. We have a special area we call "Adventure Cave" for toys for younger kids.
Late May we will add a wood burning fire pit (solo stove). We do provide an electric smores maker and smores treats for our guests to enjoy. We also added a propane gas "firebowl" for circling up on the deck in the evening. When outdoors, we have corn hole, fishing items, two-person inflatable kayak to take out on Navajo Lake - just 15 minutes away, and an inflatable boat. Our digital guidebook tells you so much about the area and our chalet! As your host, I enjoy answering all questions to help plan your vacation!
I love exploring! I love sightseeing, hiking, riding ATV, and most recently, loved taking our new inflatable kayak on Navajo Lake.
I love coffee, which is why I wanted to offer complimentary coffee of different roasts. I prefer dark roast - no cream. However, I have friend tea drinkers and those who like cream. We have cream and sugar for you too. So, there are several hot beverages available. When I am up there, I like the quiet morning, view of the trees and my hot coffee.
I am a wife and mom of three boys, and I am a home educator. I love helping others! I had so much fun answering upcoming guest questions about the area or chalet. Being able to help my guests is a joy!
I like to think we are perfectly located! We are close to the village within 5 minutes. Our village is small. We have four restaurants, one little grocery inside our True Value Hardware store, and one little gas station. At the end of our road, we have one finer dining restaurant with down to earth owners open Thursday to Sunday for breakfast and dinner. It is superb! In the village has a restaurant with awesome portions and huge pancakes (breakfast served all day) at Aunt Sue's Chalet.
We have loads of pine trees all around and aspen sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. Oh! The fall season of September to October with the aspen changing color is gorgeous! Many homes are vacation homes or vacation rentals. Our roads through the neighborhoods are dirt roads. In the winter months, you need 4X4 or chains. AWD with chains too will work. Our digital guidebook has road condition links and so much information to guide in planning your trip.
There is so much to explore and do. I love that we can enjoy the peace of the mountain, but drive and within 40-55 minutes we can see the red rock canyons and national parks. Cedar Breaks Monument, Brian Head Ski, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park are all big attractions. These are open year round. Coming in the off season in Zion allows you to drive into the canyon in winter months of Dec.-Feb. We have three lakes - two of which are smaller, but you can fish at all three. The bigger lake you can rent a pontoon size boat on the lake. We have some fishing gear for our guests, as well as an inflatable two person kayak. In the summer, the mountain stays cool compared to surrounding tourist areas and in the winter we have snow. There are so many ATV and Snowmobile trails throughout Duck Creek Village.
