While enjoying your stay at Open Gates B & B, there are many activities to do in the area. We are happy to arrange any activities listed on this page, or suggest other options. We’re conveniently located near Sapelo Island (one of Georgia’s most distinctive barrier islands), historic Fort King George, the oldest European fort in Georgia, and Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, a restored 19th century rice plantation. Open Gates is also very accessible to many wildlife viewing areas including the Altamaha Wildlife Management Area, Okefenokee Swamp and Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
