On 25 acres of woods and fields, you can relax on the back deck, watch for over 25 species of birds, or sight a wandering fox or flock of wild turkeys.
Full kitchen, sunny, great views, queen bed plus a single bed in the office sleeps one more. Private entrance has a ramp for easy access. Comfortable for a peaceful getaway, outdoor activity or working remotely.
GUEST POLICY: Property is smoke/vape free and no pets/animals allowed.
This apartment is perfect for one or two guests, the price is the same. However, adding a third guest is an additional cost per night. Please indicate the correct number of guests when making your reservation. If a third person over the age of 1 year old is added after you have reserved, please revise your reservation and/or notify the host and pay directly with cash or venmo. Maximum number of guests is 3 persons for stays up to 1 week. For longer stays, the space is comfortable for 1 person for a month or longer. Contact host with details if necessary as longer stays may warrant trash removal and upkeep.
No laundry appliances available. Laundry on Elm Street in Montpelier has great service for drop off for wash, dry and fold at reasonable rates, or use either laundromats nearby.

STROLL: Enjoy a 25 minute walk on our "Bluebird Loop" trail, a mowed path throughout fields and woods following the perimeter of our rural property. Enjoy seeing birds, deer, wild turkeys, wildflowers, open sky, and past the apiary. This is approximately 3/4 of a mile.
ANN & LARRY: We are often around and happy to greet you and share information about your space as well as local activities. Feel free to text or call with any questions. As the backyard is a shared space, you may see us coming and going and working in the garden, grounds, or barn.
We enjoy hosting guests who stay here for so many reasons, such as: Some have grandchildren and family to visit nearby; Attending a wedding, graduation, or memorial service; Showing up for college visits, Adamant Music School, or Parents' Weekend at Norwich, University of Vermont, St. Michaels College, Champlain College; for Vermont sports like the Vermont City Marathon, mountain biking, the Long Trail, or skiing at nearby Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Bolton: Enjoying the Vermont seasonal scenes like fall foliage, winter wonderland, and the green mountains in summertime; Finding a base to take day trips to the mountain, Ben & Jerry's, Trapp Family Lodge, Burlington and Lake Champlain; A great spot to work remotely; and some who are visiting the New England area from overseas and taking in all the special flavors that the state of Vermont has to offer.
Many guests continue to book to stay here again as they feel happy to find a comfortable, convenient, affordable, and especially clean space.
NOTE: Although we love dogs, we cannot have them here due to severe allergies.
CONVENIENT LOCATION and DIRECTIONS: We are located on County Road which begins as Main Street coming out of downtown Montpelier. (Accessing Main Street from College Street, uphill from downtown Montpelier, will allow you to avoid downtown. You will notice a rural setting and pass Morse Farm Sugarworks on the right hand side of the road. Our driveway is one-half mile beyond Morse Farm but we are on the left hand side of the road. The house is not visible from the road but you will find 1573 on our Blue mailbox and a long driveway lined with tall pine trees. Start watching when you see the 40 mph sign.
During your stay, a short walk back on County Road to Barnes Road is a nice country road to walk or bike. There are several trailheads for the East Montpelier Trail system nearby.
Your PARKING is on the far left side of the house. Pull all the way up to the ramp which leads to an unlocked door to the hall. You can let yourselves in! Come in and find your private entrance on the left. Use your key code followed by the checkmark symbol to open the door and press any button to lock the door as you leave. Bicycles and skis may be stored in the carport. We live in the main house and we park in the lower driveway and the carport.
EV CHARGING is available upon request and cost will be determined based on time needed.

GROCERIES: Shaws Supermarket is on Main St. in Montpelier and Hunger Mountain Food Coop has groceries and pre made options for take out.The Adamant Coop offers a delightful place to stop and pick up supplies as well as the Maple Corner Store which has groceries, take out, and the Whammy Bar serving food and drinks and weekend music. Morse Farm has local bread, milk,eggs, cheese, bacon, beef, and of course--maple syrup!
