Tranquil, romantic, evocative – hallmarks of the Bed and Breakfast experience and of the Addison on Amelia, an elegant choice for Amelia Island lodging. Understated hints of the tropics in the impeccably decorated guest rooms bring to mind Old Florida stylishness with four-poster beds, rich hardwood floors, and ceiling fans stirring a cool breeze. Be transported to a world of luxury in each of the 14 guest rooms at our inn.
Each room at our distinctive Amelia Island lodging has premium bedding with deluxe linens and luxurious, modern baths, many with jetted tubs big enough for two. Slipping into our 600-thread-count cotton sheets is a decadent pleasure matched only by the lavish Turkish cotton towels in your bath. The Addison provides spa quality, environmentally sensitive amenities for an elegant accompaniment to your bath or shower. In addition, each room is equipped with two cozy robes, a hairdryer, color TV, complimentary Wi-Fi high-speed Internet and a clock radio. Rooms 1 through 5 are on the main house air conditioning systems, and Rooms 6 through 15 have individual climate control systems.
Lisa and Ron West welcome you to The Addison on Amelia. This has been a 30 year dream of Lisa’s since living on an old rice plantation in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Through the years working as a hospital pharmacist, pharmacy software salesperson, and healthcare consultant, Lisa held onto this dream and was thrilled that her husband, Ron, also embraced the dream.
Shortly after Ron moved to Sarasota from Kansas City in 2002, Lisa took him on a “Lowcountry tour” staying at bed and breakfast inns from St. Augustine, FL to Charleston, SC. Each inn offered a different approach to innkeeping and provided Lisa and Ron with ideas for the guest experience they would like to provide once they owned an inn.
Everything they envisioned about their inn was available at The Addison on Amelia – historic district with shopping and dining within walking distance of the inn, temperate climate for numerous outdoor activities, such as kayaking, sailing, biking, hiking, birding, fishing, golf, tennis, jogging, walking on the beach, historic sites such as Fort Clinch and the Amelia Island Museum of History, and the community feeling that Fernandina Beach offers.
Conveniently located in the charming Historic District of Fernandina Beach, our Amelia Island, Florida inn is just a short stroll to Centre Street with shopping, great restaurants, eclectic art galleries, and the marina. Just steps away from the inn is something for everyone including a day at the spa, eco-tours of the rivers and marshes, shopping, skippered sailing cruises, fine dining and casual lunches, live music in the local bars, the Farmer’s Market every Saturday, and so much more. The Atlantic Ocean with parking at Main Beach is 2 miles from the inn and accessible by complimentary bicycles provided at the inn. Fort Clinch, also accessible by bicycle, car, or on foot is located on Atlantic Avenue just before Main Beach.
