The Bird House is a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom guest house on the Cumberland Plateau in Dunlap, TN. It is centrally located to several state parks: Fall Creek Falls, Savage Gulf, Rock Island are under 30 minutes away and Greet Falls is 45 minutes and Stone Door is 60 minutes. The house includes free WiFi, ample parking, loads of peace and quiet, premium linens, snacks, cinnamon rolls for one breakfast, and a coffee bar with a great selection of coffees and creamers, raw sugar & stevia. Hot chocolate is also available. Both beds are queen sized and each bedroom has a full bathroom. There is a washer & dryer, microwave, dishwasher, stove w/oven, refrigerator, coffee pot, keurig, and blender. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook and enjoy meals, including dishes for the outdoor area. Firewood, weenie roasting sticks, and citronella candles are provided for the outdoors. Outside deck has a 2 burner propane grill and seating for two. There is an ash bucket to dispose of cigarette butts as smoking is not allowed inside the house. Laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwasher pods, dish soap, hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo & conditioner are provided. Inside the house are books, magazines, and board games. The smart TV includes HULU, Netflix, & Amazon. Bring your cable TV logins if you’d like live sports.
Our wonderful guests are why we love what we do. We’ve been premier host and superhost for 9 years. We love to travel and people and so hospitality is a natural element to us. My bucket list travel destinations are Israel to walk where Jesus walked and to hike the El Camino De Santiago. We lived in Vietnam for 8 months. Traveled to Hawaii, Mexico several times, the Bahamas, Grand Turk, the Dominican Republic, and Grand Cayman. There are only 4 of the continental 48 states that I haven’t been to. If you didn’t guess from my bucket list, I love Jesus immensely! Welcome to our little neck of the woods.
The Bird House is on 13 wooded acres with 2 other structures. The main house is right next door, but your yard and house are private and quiet. You’ll likely see wildlife if outdoors in evening or early morning. And you might be visited by our shameless chickens hoping for scraps.
