With a design inspired by the great outdoors, relaxing hang-out spaces, and convenient access to Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the area’s best vineyards and breweries, the Indigo House is a fun and fresh take on the traditional B&B experience. Dogs always stay for free!

As millennial innkeepers, we traded the daily grind of corporate America for the pursuit of a new dream – one rooted in southern hospitality and sharing a good many things around the fire with new friends. It all started in 2017 when the frustrations we encountered in our own travels inspired us to create a design-forward bed & breakfast that caters entirely to dog owners. Now, we spend our days making it easy for our guests to explore and connect with the many people and places to love in the valley (and beyond)!

The Indigo is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with easy access to the Rockfish Gap Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen Resort, and Shenandoah National Park. Surrounded by the incredible restaurants, breweries, and wineries of Nelson 151 (also known as the Brew Trail), you are well-positioned for days of exploration. Discover the Birthplace of American Wine Charlottesville and the Monticello American Viticultural Area (AVA) have been named Wine Enthusiast’s 2023 Wine Region of the Year! This recognizes over 40 wineries in the Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Orange, and Nelson counties. The Monticello AVA, with a history of over fifty years, is celebrated for its unique terroir, passionate winemakers, and collaborative spirit. This global acknowledgment highlights the region’s position as a premier destination for wine enthusiasts. Many award-winning breweries, wineries, cideries, meaderies, and distilleries are just minutes up the road!
