Your hosts are Anneliesa Barta and Architect Jim Smith, one of Denver’s top architects. We are "professional nesters" - we love renovating homes and creating places for us, our family and our guests to dwell - and stay awhile! When you visit Hannibal you will notice that the area is revitalizing with many homes under renovation, a new waterfront and new stores on its vibrant Main Street. We are part of this movement, with 7 completed renovation projects and more underway.
To date we have hosted over 1,000 satisfied guests between our various properties in Colorado, South Dakota and Missouri. Together we are building a portfolio of distinguished properties in places of importance in American history. We offer the discriminating traveler a truly authentic experience of a period home, furnished with a view toward harmony, simplicity and modern comforts. Come, be our guest – and stay awhile!

The historic home built in 1892 has retained many original features that are just breathtaking! Such as a grand oak staircase. original hardwood floors and trim, stained glass, French and Pocket Doors just to name a few. Main Level has Grand Entry Foyer, Living Room, Formal Dining Room, powder room and Kitchen. A large deck is located off the Kitchen. Upper Level features 3 Large Bedrooms with a Full Bathroom (tub / shower combination) Pocket Doors separate Bedrooms 1 and 2.
Staying here offers the traveler in search of history a uniquely clear connection to Hannibal's past, its place in time and to the local culture – with modern amenities!

The home was built c. 1892, and is located on Center Street, known for its great collection of historic homes. Located just a few blocks from Hannibal's thriving Main Street and the historic downtown waterfront, situated within Hannibal's Historic District next to many other grand homes.
Take a walking tour to see the many Victorian and Federal style homes on Center Street and the Historic District! You are blocks away from Mark Twain's boyhood home, the Mississippi River and the many amenities of downtown Hannibal, the scene of many weekend events. Lots of local shops and local color! Great parks and open spaces are nearby, and opportunities for outdoor recreation. The area is filled with natural beauty ready for exploration
