The Peaceful Pelican is a 1910 Victorian home that became a B&B in 2009. It has 5 rooms, each with its own bathroom that includes both a tub and a shower. Each room is uniquely decorated and painted a different color. Amenities in each room include a King bed, mini frig, microwave, and hair dryer.
The 3rd floor suite is a stunning room that comprises the entire 3rd floor. It has a spiral staircase to the deck on top of the roof that’s called a “widow’s walk”. It has a window with a window seat in every direction and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. It can sleep up to 6 people and has both a King and single bed.
The 1st floor suite is 2 rooms separated by a French door, one room with the King bed and the other with a comfortable 2-chair sitting area.
Three rooms are on the 2nd floor, the Magnolia room and Sunrise room are both Bay facing rooms with a great view of the fantastic Matagorda Bay sunrises. The Garden room overlooks the lush green garden with a view of the water behind. The Magnolia room and Garden room also have electric Fireplaces.
The owner/innkeeper does not live on site so guests have full access to all common areas that include: setting room with fireplace, dining room with coffee bar, and sun room with comfortable chairs surrounded by orchids and succulents. These 3 downstairs rooms all have a stunning view of scenic Matagorda Bay.
The front porch of The Peaceful Pelican is a draw to all guests and visitors. It’s a great place to watch the sun rise over the Bay, read a book, or enjoy a glass of wine.
