Welcome to the Fair Oaks Village Tudors, affectionately The Tudors
The Tudors are at the center of things.
The Tudors overlook the historical Fair Oaks Village Square, a walkable and bikeable 10-block area off Sunrise and Fair Oaks Blvd adjacent to the American River. In fact its second floor is the highest point in the Village Square looking out upon the main shopping and dining corridor. At the Tudors, our Tudors Team reminds itself that when we change our view, we shape our perspective.
Nature Therapy:
We invite you to come change your view to shape your perspective.
It’s beautiful inside, and your room will be cozy, and we hope that you’ll get outside to soak up the Oak trees and the river breeze. We’re big believers in Nature Therapy and we design for it. Go outside to play a game of life size chess or checkers, read a book, work on a project, or just meditate and watch the sunset. Climb up the nearby bluffs above the American River or cross the Red Bridge into Gold River and the 32-mile American River Bike Trail. (You can rent a bike next door at Biker Bar!)
We have designed our space to maximize versatility. It’s embedded with its own first floor coworking space, part of our BizGym(™). If you’re inclined to get some work done on our gig of wifi, you can work from anywhere across the .6 acre campus.
If you are an artist or crafter, come for a weekly Craft Tea (Crafty) Hour and bring your project or start a new one. Talk to us about teaching a class or workshop, or even taking a class while you’re with us from one of our experts on fiber arts and more. You are also welcome to work from the Craft Room or paint plein air on our grounds.
Fair Oaks Village is a recreational diamond lesser known than its larger neighbors like Tahoe, Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Amador, all within an hour-and-a-half from our campus. The Village is an emerging arts, dining and entertainment district. We envision it as a micro-Carmel by the River yet much more down-to-earth. It’s easy to participate here. Think of it as a real world version of a fictional TV town like Stars Hollow from the Gilmore Girls.
Dining Destination
In the Village, right outside your front door, you will find myriad coffee and dining options all walkable from an Italian and Spanish tapas and wine bistro, Bodega Biondi, around the corner to a French bakery and cafe across the street. Grab cocktails on the patio of Shangri-La transporting you to a slice of Palm Springs or Mexican food and margaritas on the patio of Carmelita’s.
Walk or bike to Sunflower Drive-in, a vegetarian destination since 1978, that features nut burgers on an open patio, then take a bike ride along the American River Bike Trail. Sit down at the very Fair Oaks Brewpub for a pint amidst the neighbors. Soak up the elders and all the gossip in the old school Village Coffee & Deli with its fresh morning bakery fare and sandwiches.
The Tudors are three blocks to the Red Bridge or the Bluffs overlooking the American River at one of the more significant entrances to the American River Bike Trail, a 32-mile course, which traverses our entire region even linking up to the Davis Causeway Trail to get to UC Davis or the nationally known Davis Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings.
