Carrabelle, Florida (5–8 miles away)
Stroll through downtown Carrabelle and snap a photo at the World’s Smallest Police Station. Enjoy a scenic walk along the Carrabelle River Walk or step back in time at the Carrabelle History Museum. Just outside town, visit the WWII Camp Gordon Johnston Museum or relax on the beautiful Carrabelle Beach. Don’t miss the Crooked River Lighthouse—especially magical at sunset.
Panacea & Wakulla County (20–39 miles east)
A short drive east brings you to the Gulf Specimen Aquarium in Panacea, a great stop for families. Further on, explore Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park, where you can swim, visit the charming lodge, and take in some Hollywood history (it’s where The Creature from the Black Lagoon was filmed).
