Welcome to Vista del Mar! Our house is a classic thatched roof beach house that we recently renovated so others can enjoy this beautiful view and lovely family beach. We are steps from the Playa Arachania beach , you can see the waves from the living room couch! We are halfway between La Paloma and La Pedrera,

We are Madonna & Mike Dougherty and will be available during your stay for all your needs. We are world travelers who love Uruguay. We are semi-retired now and are enjoying the tranquil, beach life in La Paloma. We are working on learning Spanish fluently. Our property manager, Emelia, is fluent in Spanish if a need arises. We have been living in Uruguay for 5 years now and love it. There are lots of nature tours we can recommend, as well as restaurants and day trips. Our motto is "Life is short, so make every day a new experience!"

We are located between Costa Azul and Arachania. Costa Azul is a quaint little town, very close (4.5K) to La Paloma, with everything you will need. In Costa Azul, there is our favorite bakery in all of Uruguay, with amazing chocolate and dulce de leche delights. There is also a carneceria, fruiteria, verduleria, and a few restaurant deliveries. Surfing is popular , with La Aquada beach nearby where you can relax , have a cerverza or glass of wine and watch the surfers. If you surf, there is a surf shop with rentals. La Pedrera is very close and offers many shops and restaurants, along with a unique beaches and surfing. Day trips to Cabo Polonia, Valizas, Santa Teresa or Punta del Diablo are all accessible. We are onsite to help you and there is free parking.
