Strawberry Hill Farm offers braai facilities, a fireplace on the premises, hiking and walking trails, a series of mountain biking routes (we’re surrounded by 75 miles of trails, as part of the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy trail network), and river pools nearby.
The farm is 20 minutes from the town of Heidelberg and 38 minutes from Swellendam (the start of the Garden Route on the N2).
This property is also rated the best for value in Heidelberg! Guests are getting more for their money when compared to other properties in this town.

Aileen Anderson is passionate about riding her bike and planning ways to build more. She has 2 environmental master's degrees with a focus on water resource management but much prefers spending her time managing the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy. That job includes keeping 132 rural people employed in environmental projects.
Aileen will welcome you to Strawberry Hill Farm, a member of the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy. For Aileen, the focus is on quality and comfort at the Strawberry Hill self-catering accommodation. And on showing you the wonderful, natural world you can experience here (preferably on a bike).
Strawberry Hill Farm is situated in the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy. It's a beautiful and secretive natural world, surrounded by glorious green landscapes, magical forests and luscious Fynbos. The farm is right next door to the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve (this is a CapeNature-managed reserve).
This makes it a wonderful setting for mountain biking, trail running, hiking, birding - or even just admiring the spectacular views from your self-catering accommodation. These activities are all available within the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy.
There are also lots of hidden rock pools, dams, rivers and kloofs to explore on a hot day near Strawberry Hill Farm, so don't forget your swimming gear. We can also recommend a few places to go for some open water swimming training (if you like that kind of thing).
A little further afield, you can enjoy kite surfing and whale watching at the Witsand coast (about an hour's drive from the farm).
For rainy days, try some of the local favourite restaurants and coffee shops in Heidelberg, Swellendam, Suurbraak and Barrydale.
