Robertson is Els' home away from home which means she can recommend walks and experiences to fully immerse yourself in one of South Africa's beautiful wine-growing areas, the Breede River Valley.
The surrounding Breede River Valley is the largest wine producing area of the Western Cape and offers a plethora of wine estates, like De Wetshof, Bon Courage, Springfield, Graham Beck, Rietvallei, Fraai Uitzicht, Excelsior wine estate and so many more all within a close distance to Robertson. 
Within walking distance to the house you will find the best butcher in town, AF Kriel slaghuis. Wonderful breakfast places are, Used To Bee New, Strictly Coffee and the excellent Four Cousins restaurant as well as Louretta’s bakery for marvelous cake and delicious pastries and bread. 
Other towns in the area worth a visit are Montagu and McGregor.
