Only 30 minutes from Graaff Reinet and situated on a 4th generation Karoo farm, Vrede Fountain House is the perfect place to unwind away from the hustle & bustle of the city. This self-catering house can comfortably accommodate 7 adults. Vrede Fountain House is a tranquil space with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Plenty of oppurtunity to relax on the deck, go walking in the veld, do some birdwatching or swim in the river below the house (seasonal). PLEASE NOTE If your car does not have high clearance (SUV, bukkie etc.), you won't be able to drive on the last section of dirt road to get up to Vrede Fountain House. A sedan / small car will not make it.
Vrede Fountain House is situated on de Vrede Farm; a 4th generation working Karoo farm located 42km outside of Graaff Reinet in the Eastern Cape. The neighbourhood is rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and game farms. de Vrede Farm is located in an access controlled conservancy; guests will be provided with access codes on the day of arrival. Nearby attractions inlcude Valley of Desolation, local museums and art venues such as The Hester Rupert Art Museum, the Graaff Reinet Museum, Obesa Cacti Nursery, Graaff Reinent Brewery and Nieu Bethesda.
