Brand New hotel. Opened 7 days before we came. Very central and safe location. Metro which takes you straight to Plaka or Acropolis is 300 meters. The staff was super supportive and very courteous and helpful, we checked in late with children and elderly. The rooms are super nice and big, extremely very clean and comfortable. The breakfast on the top floor was great too. I recommend this hotel and will always come back to this hotel when in Athens.

Our first visit to Athens, what a city! Our choice of hotel was fortunately completely spot on. The location is great for walking to any mayor places of interest. The neighbourhood is nice and save and there are several great small shops in the street, I actually bought all my presents for the 'kids' back home just across the street. The hotel is recently opened so everything is new, clean and well maintained. 'Welcome' at the reception was very friendly and efficient, they upgraded us to a room with terrace and outdoor jacuzzi. What a treat! Actually I can only praise everyone at the reception, they were all so friendly and helpful. Arranged taxi's in the evening to drive us to restaurants further away and even kept out luggage in storage as we had a late flight when we left. The room as mentioned was excellent, large, comfy bed, good sized bathroom with walk inn shower, magnifying mirror and quality vanity items as well a large terrace to enjoy the sun. And I really appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room. I brought my own capsules though because 2 euro for one capsule provided by the hotel is really adding to your bill if you drink 2 triple espresso's in the morning... The entire hotel and room were spotless clean. Breakfast is served in the bar on the ground floor of the hotel. It was very good. Besides the buffet part you can choose 'a la carte', which is smart as you will be served with a freshly prepared nice selection of dishes of your choice. All in all: This was a really great experience and we will be happy to return to Praxitelous Luxury Suites and will recommend it to anyone visiting Athens. You won't regret! Thanks to the entire team, we will be back, Athens is a stunning city and your hotel is a remarkable one, for a reasonable price.

Fantastic location, walking distance from all landmarks, plenty of restaurants and cafes. The room was clean and quiet, air condition soundless (a very big plus for us). The management was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed staying here and would visit again!

National Archaeological Museum of Athens

Time travel is usually reserved for science fiction stories, but a trip to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens is a real trip through history. From the golden funeral masks of kings to statues of vengeful gods and ancient, rusted computers (yes, really!) the museum has managed to collect together the highlights from thousands of years of art and culture. The civilisations that provided these treasures may be long gone, but their legacy is truly timeless.

This is a wonderful museum.

This is a wonderful museum. The beauty of the ancient artefacts is astounding - even in neolithic times, thousands of years before Jesus, people were creating and making pottery. Thousands of years before the common era, people were crafting intricate jewellery, majestic statues, tools and utensils. The cafe in the basement is worth a visit, set in a shady garden.

Mostly sculpture here, and since i spend a lot of time in Italy, have seen tons of Roman art and artifacts including sculpture so this was less interesting for me than other museums in Athens. It also is the oldest of the museums i went to. Good cafe with very pretty garden! was not very crowded considering how many people were roving around the museum.

If staying near Syntagma Square or nearby, you might want to take a taxi or bus to this museum, because it is a long walk. The museum is large and you’ll be on you feet for hours. But it is well worth it!

This is an amazing museum with the largest collection of Greek antiquity such as the statues of Zeus and Poseidon. You are able to enjoy pieces from the past as the Gold Deathmask of Agamemnon, the Antikythera mechanism, and much more. You are free to explore the museum at your own pace, but you might need at least 4 hours. The only disappointment is that for a museum of this caliber and magnitude, where people from all over the world come to see, it cannot afford to have toilet seats in the bathroom. I found it discussing.
