AustraliaDonatella was on front desk for the majority of our stay! She was super friendly, polite, always smiling and an absolute asset to Grifo! Location was 6 minute walk to colosseum, 15 minute walk to Trevi and we had lovely restaurants in minutes

PolandI had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. There was a coffee machine and a fridge in the room. The hotel decor is beautiful. The location is perfect, the metro and bus are just a few steps away. I definitely recommend this place!

Modern rooms with great functional design and a window - ours facing inside the building and overlooking other residents sharing the block which felt intimate. (There are rooms facing outside - which would be lovely)
Great breakfast spread, amazing filtered water machine available 24/7, coffee/tea making machine also 24/7 that churns out pretty good espresso!
After soaking in the historic atmosphere each day in Rome, it’s nice to come back to a modern, simple and non-rococo room to just rest your eyes!
Highly recommend and would love to return soon.

Walking. Lots of walking. Be sure to get a tour from Air BnB or Get your guide. They take you in past the line and they have loads of information. There are several tours available with destinations all over Rome.

I almost got pickpocketed !
I almost got pickpocketed ! good thing my pouch was attached with a chain. Very crowded and too many people allowed in at once so it was almost impossible to really see anything. It seems making lots of money is the only thing that the people that run the place care about. Skip the Colosseum or at the very least book a small tour and skip the line.

The Colosseum and the Roman Forum area are interesting, but crowded. In some ways taking the suburban train out to Ostia Antica, the old port for Imperial Rome, is better as itthe layout is clearer, though you are under the flightpath of Fiumicino Airport.

Loved it.
Loved it. The first time I was there in 1969 I didn't get to go inside. This trip I did get to see it up close and personal. Like any attraction these days be prepared for everybody trying to take a "selfie". Make that "multiple selfies".

Disgusting, the ticket site and booking.com, changed times and all three tickets at the same time, tired to communicate with both sites, no joy wasted hundreds of dollars, way too many people booked for every second of the day, it is too chaotic, I nearly flew home to Australia, that's how bad the service was their and booking.com, you didn't answer or help. By far the worse tour

North end accessible for parking a motorcycle but stop near Constantino’s arch and soldiers will attack you!! Then direct one to parking 6 miles away!!!! So go past and pull up the far side of the road where they can’t get at you so easily!

The location was good, near the metro station and close to buses. It was 30mins walk maybe to the Coliseum. There were restaurants and shops close. The street was a bit worn but it did not trouble us. The kitchen facilities were simple but very useful to make breakfast and snacks. The room was a good size. Susanna was very friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was great in a local area with great cafes around. The room was cleaned every day and the shower was really good! Great for solo travellers as I felt very safe! Down the road is the main avenue that runs past the Coliseum making it very easy to catch public transport.

We were so happy to stay in an apartment in such a lovely old building. It is just across the road from the Coliseum, has the taxi rank just outside the front door and a grocery store round the corner.
It is also surrounded by restaurants.
The windows have double glazing, so there is no noise.
All in all, a very good experience. Will absolutely stay there again.

Although this is a slightly dated hotel, it is in a very convenient location, a short walk from both the central train station and metro stations. It's a short walk to the Coliseum, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
The breakfast was ample with a lovely little outdoor rooftop area. For the price, this is a very reasonable hotel which allows you to easily explore Rome.

The location is great! close to metro, bus and walkable distance to Coliseum.
Host is very friendly and helpful, always available. She gave us very good recommendations! Diana left very nice amenities for us and compensated some deficiencies of the apartment with her availability and communication.
The apartment is fully equipped and decorated. Everything you may need is there.

Everyone knows the Colosseum is the prime landmark in Rome, but also check out Castel Sant'Angelo - it's a medieval fortress built on top of Hadrian's tomb, and you can see everything from the ancient foundation up to the lavishly decorated papal apartments on the top floor. And the city views from the battlements are amazing!

It's amazing to walk inside the colosseum and imagine how things were few thousand years ago. In the book store of the colosseum you can take a look at some graphic illustration(it's kinda cartoon like) overlaying on the photo of the ruins. It really brings history alive when you're looking at those old stones alongside with those graphic illustration. (We actually bought that book because it's pretty cool!)

Because it's not a big city and there is so much to see when wandering between the 'big-ticket' sites like the Colosseum and the Parthenon. Walking allows you to come across the tiny pizzerias and cafes which you'd never see if you were on a tour bus or in a car.

I suggest visiting the city outside of the summer months. My family went during Christmas and though there were crowds, they were small. I can only imagine the lines and congestion in the summer. Also, if you really want to go to the Colosseum, get your combined ticket at the Palatino first! We paid 24 Euro total for my family (children free) to gain access to the Palatino, Roman Forum, and Colosseum. Worth it when I saw the crazy line into the Colosseum and we just walked past it all.

We went second weekend of November, lucky with sunshine and temp was 20 degrees, so comfortably warm and just into their winter season so fewer tourists. Avoid visiting churches on Sundays as services in progress means restrictions. Mondays some museums closed. Get a tour guide for some things, essential for the vatican, otherwise it is a visual overload with no time to consult the info, so much better to listen as you look. Vatican is always crowded so easier to follow your guide and also prepaying means you avoid the huge queues to buy tickets. Angel Tours highly recommended. When going to the Colosseum, choose the Palatine Hill ticket entrance to avoid long queues at Colosseum entrance.
