An absolute jewel of a small hotel. Extremely helpful before arrival. Top location for ancient Rome. Book early to secure a top floor room with terrace overlooking forum. Rooms are small but exceptionally clean and well presented. Everything sparkles! Even the terrace was spotless. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Perfect spot for short stay. Everything is easily accessible in 2 (long, exhausting) days. The absolutely charming gentlemen on the front desk will show you exactly how. This is "only" a 2 star hotel but there a many good reasons for the relatively steep tariff (top floor worth every cent). Plenty of bars/ restaurants. Head away from Colloseum for the better establishments.

Roman Forum

More palace than museum, El Prado is a true cultural treasure trove. Its hallowed halls hold one of the world’s finest collections of European art, from the fantastical figures of Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights to the dark, twisted beauty of Goya’s legendary Black Paintings. It needn’t cost the Earth either – in the evenings entrance is usually free.

Be prepared for a long walk. It is worth it. Make sure you have water with you, as there is very little shade, and in summer it gets very hot. The day we went, it was 40 degrees celsius. From here you can easily walk to the Coliseum, but make sure that you have prebooked tickets to both

Gone are the days of strolling through the Forum and sitting as the ancients did among the temples and spirits, remains of daily pre-modern life. But if you can take the time to get into the Forum in a quiet, personal way, it is an experience worth having. As a tourism tour, not so much. Try to enjoy ancient Rome quietly and peacefully, on your own with time and space to receive from it.

We had a wonderful stay in Rome in this apartment. The communication with the host was excellent, he gave us great tips on what to visit and even provided us with a city map. The apartment itself is very charming with a small garden, and it’s perfectly located as a base for sightseeing. Many main attractions like the Roman Forum are just a short walk away, and Trastevere with its fantastic pubs and restaurants is also very close. We’re already planning another trip to Rome, and if possible, we would love to stay here again.

It’s a small ground floor apartment but it’s feel big. It has everything you need, plenty of storage, big comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, reasonable size fridge and fresh clean towels. The location is on a quiet road, but in a really good location. Turn one corner, and you can see the colosseum and Roman forum. The hosts are really friendly and responded very quickly to my messages. Also, surrounded by good bars, restaurants and shops. Will definitely look for this place on my next visit.

The room was spacious and very comfortable, containing everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful. Not only was there a wide choice and very helpful staff but the dining area was on the top floor with a roof terrace looking towards the Colosseum! The hotel is very well situated, being both close to a Metro station and to the key historical sites of the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum. There are also many eating places nearby.

It was very well located. Near the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Although it was central there was little noise from the city, and quiet in general in the building. It was cleaned every day and it was clean although the shower was clogged and a little rusty. There was a refrigerator and air conditioning that worked well.

Buy the ticket for Colloseum at the enterence to Forum Romanum and Palatin, you will avoid giant line (3 attractions cost altogether 12 euro)! FAst track ticket for the VAtican Museum is also good idea (we did it), you can buy at the enterence to the St. Peter's Basilic. It is quite expensive, but it helps you to avoid huge line and to see both attractions during one day.
