Be prepared for a long walk. It is worth it. Make sure you have water with you, as there is very little shade, and in summer it gets very hot. The day we went, it was 40 degrees celsius. Gone are the days of strolling through the Forum and sitting as the ancients did among the temples and spirits, remains of daily pre-modern life. But if you can take the time to get into the Forum in a quiet, personal way, it is an experience worth having. As a tourism tour, not so much. It has everything you need, plenty of storage, big comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, reasonable size fridge and fresh clean towels. The location is on a quiet road, but in a really good location. Turn one corner, and you can see the colosseum and Roman forum. The hosts are really friendly and responded very quickly to my messages. Also, surrounded by good bars, restaurants and shops. Buy the ticket for Colloseum at the enterence to Forum Romanum and Palatin, you will avoid giant line (3 attractions cost altogether 12 euro)! FAst track ticket for the VAtican Museum is also good idea (we did it), you can buy at the enterence to the St. Peter's Basilic.
