Don't miss this castle!
Don't miss this castle! It was closed by the time I got there, but the photos (daytime and night) were great, especially at sakura season. This hotel could have easily been an 8 or 9 hadn’t it been for a couple of major issues (see below). Amazing location, directly connected to the station and 10-minute walk from Kokura Castle. Tanga Market and a host of eateries, bars and shops. Room size was very large and the room looked clean (see more below). I know Japanese water is safe and clean to drink, but they have a water filter, so that was a plus too. 4. On top of that, the bed was thick and comfy. Nishitetsu was within walking distance of Kokura train station. The onsen won us over. It had a hot pool, cold pool and sauna. Also walking distance to Kokura castle and a whole alley of restaurants.
