So,having the onsen and massage chair was a
deciding factor. Also a delicious breakfast every morning and a comfortable bed are important to us.
The location is also great, so close to the train station and shops.

Free breakfasts are more than varied. In our case it was also smoothies.
On the first floor there is a small library where you can drink coffee or juice for free during the day, even after you have checked out of the hotel.

The airport bus from Kansai stops on the other side of the station. The buses in front of the hotel can take you to all the places of interest. The friendly and helpful staff who greet you at the lobby every time you step in and out. The breakfast buffet is a good spread of local delights too. Downstairs a Pronto was good for breakfast and lots of restaurants right next door. The bath on the rooftop was good. Rooms were fine, always the juggling with 2 suitcases in Japanese hotel rooms but managed to squeeze them and us in. It made catching the train to my next destination very easy and stress-free. The bus terminal is just outside the station and it was easy to get around. The view of the castle from our room and the breakfast room was excellent. The hotel practiced strict hygiene rules at breakfast, the quality of which was very good. Although it looks like JR Wakayamashi Station is nearer to the hotel on the map, it is much more convenient and direct to get off at JR Wakayama Station.
